Can a dollar bill change someone’s life forever? What about fifty dollars? Individually, such a small amount of money may have little effect. But collected together with others, these gifts could have a global impact. This is the power of community.
You can put this power of community giving to work as part of the CBF of Missouri Giving Circle. The CBF of Missouri Giving Circle has a goal of 100 members giving $50 per year.
Will you be one of the 100 members? Who will you invite to join with you?
Joining the Giving Circle
Your membership in the Giving Circle can be made online or by mailing it to the CBFMO office.
You can pay the $50 annually, twice a year, or quarterly. You can give online. A modest administrative fee protects your entire $50 amount for helping the selected project.
Just like the dollar bills combined to buy a drinking water system in Southeast Asia, your $50 combined with 99 others will make a substantial $5,000 grant in April 2011.
The Giving Circle Mission
The mission of the CBF of Missouri Giving Circle is to fund projects that exemplify the values of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship in Missouri.
The goal is for Giving Circle grants to make possible something good that would not have happened otherwise. This initiative is administered by the CBF of Missouri Endowment Board.
The CBFMO Endowment Board will review requests from partner churches, institutions and field personnel, narrowing the field of choices to 4 or 5. Giving Circle members will then vote to decide which submission will receive the $5000 grant. The group will vote in early 2011 with the recipient announced and the $5000 check presented at the CBFMO Missional Dinner on Friday, April 8, 2011 in Liberty.
