Who is Cooperative Baptist Fellowship?
Cooperative Baptist Fellowship is a “denomination-like home” for a post-denominational age. We are the best of a Southern Baptist heritage ready for the 21st Century. We have core values, a strategic plan, and a structure that can be useful to churches and individuals seeking to discover and fulfill their God-given mission.

After deep concern about more than a decade of developments in the Southern Baptist Convention, 6,000 Southern Baptists met in Atlanta in 1991 and laid the groundwork for the organization of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF) encouraging Baptists to cooperate and find new alternatives for ministry and missions.

Within the state, CBF of Missouri is led by a Coordinating Council of 20 persons. They are from all areas of Missouri and represent the spectrum of generations, gender, and geography. Members are chosen by a Nominating Committee and then elected at a General Assembly.

CBF does not own institutions or elect trustees for institutions. Instead, CBF partners with institutions. Eleven of those are seminaries throughout the country. One of them is Central Baptist Seminary in Shawnee, Kansas. The Fellowship does not pass resolutions at national or state assemblies unlike other Baptist groups. Instead, we try to remain focused on our own God-given mission and goals.

Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and/of CBF of Missouri would take seriously the opportunity of partnering with you and your church.
