GENERAL ASSEMBLY
The CBF of Missouri General Assembly was hosted by University Heights Baptist Church in Springfield on April 16-17, 2010. Nearly 200 people experienced a wide variety of inspiring events. Some highlights include:
  • Terrell Carter was affirmed as CBF of Missouri's Strategic Network Director in St. Louis. Terrell will network with urban pastors and churches. Terrell is also a member at Third Baptist. (Read more about Terrell and his work.)
  • GA2010-1.jpgFellowship Baptists dispersed to serve in a dozen service settings throughout Springfield as part of their Living Testimony. Projects ranged from cleaning to painting to planting and landscaping. We concluded our day of service by sharing communion around the lunch table.
  • Danny Chisholm served as the preacher for the Friday night worship session. Dr. Chisholm spoke about "Beautiful Feet" and our need to bring a message of good news to our community.
  • An overflow room participated in the Business Session on Friday afternoon where the Assembly approved a "Covenant of Missional Collaboration" to put into words the existing relationships between CBF of Missouri and the national CBF. A task group was named to help flesh out how the Covenant can be implemented more significantly.
  • Dr. Javier Elizondo was featured at the Leadership Seminar dealing with Living Testimony. Dr. Elizondo is provost with the Baptist University of the Americas, a CBF partner school, in San Antonio, TX
  • The Glory Pickers, a bluegrass group from Overland Baptist in St. Louis, entertained at the Missional Banquet. They also played at the Child Advocacy Center yard sale, one of the service projects on Saturday.
