April 19-21• A [Baptist] Conference on Sexuality and Covenant • Atlanta, GA
Co-sponsored by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and Center for Theology and Public Life, Mercer University. Through plenary presentation, small-group interaction and resource breakouts, the conference aims to provide Baptists and other interested Christians an opportunity for honest, compassionate and prayerful dialogue around matters and questions of sexuality. Concluding a year-long practice of prayerful covenant community, presenters and facilitators (both Baptist and non-Baptist) will offer diverse perspectives that encourage thoughtful reflection and conversation among participants. Above all, participants will be encouraged to consider what it means to live as covenant. Additional information will be posted as it becomes available. For the fifth year, college students from around the country will come to the Assembly June 18-22 for an action-packed week of hands-on missions, meaningful reflection on global issues, authentic conversations and fun-filled socials. July 27-August 5 • Roma Road Partnership Visit • Slovakia
The 2012 project visit focuses on the Koptova School in Kocise along with Devleskero Kher (God's House), the local Roma church . We will paint and landscape at the Koptova School alongside Roma students and adults. We will provide afternoon "backyard Bible club" activities in out-lying areas in preparation for evening tent meetings. At the end of the week we will visit Auschwitz as part of the Day of Remembrance for Roma/gypsies exterminated as part of the Holocaust, visit the Spis Castle and two nights in Krakow, Poland. Cost of $2800 covers air travel, lodging, meals, and other on the ground expenses. The goals are to serve alongside local Roma leaders, experience worship with the Roma, and to gain appreciation for Roma and Slovakian culture and history.
