CBF of Missouri
Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Missouri began in 1991; its mission is to serve Christians and churches as they discover and fulfill their God-given purpose.
About fifty churches either have CBF in their budgets or allow members to give to CBF as a designated gift. In addition, many individuals contribute directly to CBF of Missouri and CBF nationally. The staff includes a full-time coordinator and associate coordinator and an office manager working from , Liberty. CBF of Missouri provides tangible resources to help your church, and numerous mission partnerships. A newsletter (Connect), e-mail newsletter (Grapevine), and this website keep individuals informed and serve as gateways to the Fellowship.
Cooperative Baptist Fellowship
After deep concern about developments within the Southern Baptist Convention, 6,000 Southern Baptists met in Atlanta in 1991 and laid the groundwork for the organization of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF), encouraging diversity, cooperation and new alternatives for ministry and missions. In March 1992 the first CBF missionaries were appointed and growth has been steady.
Daniel Vestal, the national CBF Coordinator, captures the essence of the Fellowship's spirit when he comments, "I believe the Lord cares about CBF, but I am absolutely convinced that the risen Christ loves each and every church. Our future is in serving those churches and the individuals who make up those churches." For interested Christians and churches, the Fellowship can be a "denomination-like home in a post-denominational age."
