Rolla Youth Serve Bosnian Ministry

A group of 10 youth and sponsors from Salem Avenue Baptist Church in Rolla traveled to St. Louis during the CBF of Missouri General Assembly—not to listen to Joseph Martin or attend breakout sessions but to serve a Bosnian ministry in the area. The group did light construction work helped with the food pantry, an important ministry of the Bosnian church.

Sasa Zivanov, pastor of the Bosnian group, conducts two services on Fridays at Kingshighway Baptist Church in both Bosnian and English. In addition, he conducts services every Sunday and a devotional in Bosnian and English on Saturdays at Christy United Methodist Church. Zivanov plans to start additional Sunday services at Affton Baptist Church for the Bosnian people who live in this area.

Kirkwood Baptist Church is a key partner in the Bosnian ministry. According to Louise Duke, an immediate need for the ministry is funding for Zivanov’s insurance, which totals around $1000 per month. "We would welcome assistance from CBF churches in this ministry," says Duke.
