From the Coordinator

Chad Cooper and Chuck Arney are leading us to be an important presence of Christ in Kenya. Chad took a youth group from Grace Point Church (formerly Swope Park) to Kenya last summer. Chuck Arney was moved by the magnitude of AIDS orphans presented at last summer’s General Assembly. From those conversations and others has emerged the $100,000 KidsHeart Africa Initiative among Fellowship Baptists in Missouri.

Already churches are responding with three year commitments. In May an exploratory visit will be made to Kenya with at least two Missourians participating.

At the CBF of Missouri Assembly in St. Louis we’ll learn more about KidsHeart Africa and how you and I can through prayer, finances, and even going can impact the lives of children in Kenya. I need to learn more. I hope that my heart and yours will be gently stirred by God’s Spirit!

With this issue of Connect we present an altered format and the inclusion of an envelope. That envelope provides one tangible way you strengthen the Fellowship movement throughout Missouri. Many readers of Connect support the Fellowship with contributions through their church. For this church support we are tremendously grateful. Almost 200 individuals provide significant support for this movement as well. I encourage you to join with us as we build and strengthen a wholesome Baptist witness throughout Missouri.
